Dublin
We took a day trip to Dublin. We toured the Guinness Storehouse, walked around and saw "buskers" (street performers) in action, visited Christ's Church, and ended our day with a performance of "Riverdance" at the historic Gaiety Theatre.
Christ Church. Home of beautiful tile work, the mummified "Tom & Jerry" and where I lit a candle for our daughter.

"If you're going to see 'River Dance', it should be in Ireland."

We took a stroll through St. Stephen's Green park. We viewed swans, people, and had a bit of ice cream. I was transfixed by the sculpture, "Famine."

Ireland
For a week we stayed in a quaint cottage in Ballyvaughan, Ireland. The village is located on the Ballyvaughan Bay, on the western coast of Ireland. Gallway Bay feeds into Ballyvaughan. We spent quiet nights and days merely taking in the bay--watching birds, viewing seals with binoculars, and on one mostly cloudless evening we were treated to a lovely sunset. We sipped our wine, read voraciously, and were only interrupted by our own conversation.
